1.The impact on the cardiovascular system
Bakuchiol can also enhance the cardiac contractility of guinea pigs and rats, excite the frog heart, and combat lactic acid induced frog heart failure. The increase in myocardial oxygen consumption is not significant, but it improves respiratory quotient, has little effect on myocardial oxidative phosphorylation, glycogen, and lactate, and therefore does not promote anaerobic metabolism in the myocardium. Slow administration has low toxicity.
2.Antibacterial effect
Bakuchiol has a certain effect on fungi on Sabouraud culture medium, and the effect of tincture is stronger than that of decoction. The petroleum ether extract from seeds has an inhibitory effect on earthworms, so it may have a deworming effect.
3.The crude extract of Bakuchiol can treat vitiligo and psoriasis, and can be applied locally and orally. It is now known that its effective ingredient is psoralen, which has low toxicity and requires a large dose to form teratogens (rat and guinea pig experiments).
